Commissioners for Oaths are individuals appointed by the Senate of the Singapore Academy of Law, empowered to administer oaths and affirmations.
You would need the services of a Commissioner if you are signing an affidavit, a statutory declaration or if you are applying to be appointed as an executor or administrator of the estate of a deceased person. The Commissioner will verify your identity against the particulars in the document, check with you that you have read the document and understand the contents, administer the oath or affirmation and witness your signature.
Documents witnessed by a Commissioner for Oaths can only be used within Singapore. Documents for use outside of Singapore need to be signed before a Notary Public.
If you would like to make an appointment with us or just speak to us over the phone to see if we can meet your requirements, just call or send us an email with your questions/requirements and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
